Annointing of the Sick

Please call the Rectory Office regarding sick and shut ins.

Anointing of the sick is a Sacrament that is performed to convey God's grace to the recipient through the power of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament, sometimes the last sacrament, extends several graces which help to strengthen with the Holy Spirit against anxiety and discouragement and conveys peace and fortitude. James stated, "Anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; (Jas. 5:14–15).

The sick should be anointed as soon as they are seriously ill, not waiting until the last moments of life.
