    SAVING LIVES TAKES ALL TYPES OF BLOOD -- GIVE YOUR TYPE!!

    THERE IS AN EMERGENCY NEED FOR BLOOD!! Please donate at the Blood Drive from 8am to 2pm at St. Ann’s Parish, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan.

    * Anyone in good health between 17 - 75 years old can donate.  The donor must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. A new bill just passed the House and Senate allowing 16 year olds (with parental permission) to donate * you can donate blood every 56 days * Photo ID required
    * Walk ins are welcome * Earn Red Cell Advantage Points, redeemable for gifts * Babysitting available * Baked goods

    -- 1 out of 3 of us will need blood therapy at some point in our lives.

    -- Recipients of blood donations are:

    1. cancer patients
    2. surgery and transplant patients
    3. accident and burn victims
    4. premature babies
    5. individuals with blood and bone marrow diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell, and others

    THE SAD FACTS!

    - only 2% of the population in NJ donates blood!

    - NJ imports 25% of the blood needed for patients in our hospitals from other states
