Rev. Edmund Luciano

Fr Edmund1

Fr. Edmund Luciano, a native of New Jersey, was raised by his parents, Edmund & Susan Luciano in Kendall Park NJ. After attending his parish elementary school he attended Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville. While there he was active in campus ministry and theatre activities. He also became active in St. Augustine’s as a Master of Ceremonies and leader of the parish youth ministry.

After high school Fr. Edmund went on to Seton Hall University where he studied philosophy and world religions while working for Campus Ministry. Having the unique opportunity to attend the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (The Angelicum) in Rome he also added Catholic Studies as his third field of study in preparation for his Bachelor of Arts degree which was conferred in 2005.

Offered a teaching position in the Religious Studies department at Oratory Prep in Summit, NJ and working as a Youth Minister in Sacred Heart of Jesus, South Plainfield, Edmund more seriously discerned the priesthood and entered St. Mary’s Seminary and University where he studied theology pastoral leadership in preparation for ordination, a Masters in Divinity and a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology. Bishop Paul Gregory Bootkoski ordained Edmund to the diaconate with his classmate Fr. Keith Cervine on May 14 2008 at St. Augustine of Canterbury and ordained them to the priesthood, along with Fr. Matthew Paratore, on May 23 2009 in St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen.

Edmund has served in many parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, including the Basilica Cathedral of the Assumption, the first Catholic Cathedral in the United States.  In our own diocese of Metuchen, Fr. Edmund has served in: Our Lady of the Mount, Warren; La Asuncion & Our Lady of Hungary, Perth Amboy, and most recently in Sts. Elizabeth & Brigid in Far Hills-Peapack.

This is his first assignment as a priest in Metuchen and he is very grateful to have received such an optimal opportunity to serve here at St. Ann’s.
